To Answer Your Questions

I've gotten some emails on my prior post about the project I featured for the EAD Designs Blog Hop. Some of you had asked for a how to, so here it is!

I started with a cardboard base. I peeled the top layer of paper to expose the corrogation underneath, ran it through the AccuCut to cut the scalloped pattern, then painted with an off white acrylic paint that I thinned quite a bit.

The background is used paper towels (they dried this way, I was using them to wipe up glimmer mist). Then I inked and layered the Prima packaging, cardboard flower, textbook page and denim flowers, the textbook page(with Reduce, Reuse, Recycle printed on it) and more denim (with Zutter rivets!)

The hanger is made from an EAD Designs package, die cut and stapled to the cardboard.

Then I took used acrylic packaging, decorated with alcohol inks, applied EAD Designs Vinyl and cut out. Then I decorated them with Ranger Liquid Pearls and placed them on the project with dimensional tape.

And...that is basically it. The break down?

New items:
EAD Vinyl; Ranger Alcohol Inks, Distress Stickles, Distress Inks, Liquid Pearls; Miscellaneous Ribbon, Staples; Adhesive; Dimensional Tape; Zutter Rivets; Printer Ink.

Used (Recycled) Items:
Cardboard, Denim, Textbook Pages, Paper Towels, Ledger Pages, EAD Vinyl Backing, EAD Product Packaging, Prima Product Packaging, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (the over spray), Miscellaneous Acrylic Packaging.

I challenge YOU to create like this too!!!!

The Bind It All SummerTime Challenge!

is now on at the Bind It All Blog!. Here are the details!

The Bind-it-All Zutter Zisters Design Team challenges you to make a mini book documenting something about your summer NOW.

Here's what you need to do:
Create a mini album 8X8 or smaller about something - anything - about summer. A summer event you attended, a summer memory or just awesome summer photos. Punch and bind it with the Bind-it-All and post a link to a couple of awesome photos in a comment on this blog entry. Tell us about the project and about what Zutter tools and/or materials you used. Make sure you tell us your hometown too!

The challenge is open now and deadline to post your link is July 31. We are going to select THREE winners to receive a Zutter Display-it-All album stand, like the one Lea Sanders used for her "Sun" album above. Winners will be announced the first week in August!

Come on and join in on the fun! EVERYONE has something to say about summer!

And while your out surfing (on the net, of course!) hop over to The Zutter Zisters to see what the Design Team has been doing!

SummerTime

Is always the time for our family, to drag out the grill and BBQ. It's also a time for hiking and picnics.

I recently participated in a SummerTime Recipe Swap at The Shaker Box message board. The swappers created a one sided 6x6 page with a favorite summer recipe. I was really excited about all the new recipes I got and I wanted to add more. So I created pages on the back side of my swaps. Then I assembled it all in an album I could display in the kitchen. I used the new Zutter Display It All to hold my album and make it easy to use.

Here are the instructions to make this!
Recipe Album with Display It All
I have a lot of recipes stuffed into this one drawer in my kitchen. Some are in books, some have been cut out of magazines, some a scribbled on notepaper or note cards. The one thing they have in common is that they are completely and totally disorganized. So when the Display It All was introduced I decided it was time to orgnize myrecipe mess and display it beautifully (and proudly) on my counter.
Gather your materials. You will need the following items to complete this project.
Tools:
Trimmer
Zutter Bind It All
AccuCut Grande Mark
AccuCut 11 ½ inch Ribbon Die: R1045G
Scor It: Scor Pal
Supplies:
1 Set Zutter 8x8 Chipboard Covers
1 package Zutter 6x6 inner pages: black
1 inch Owire: black
Teresa Collins Haute Cuisine Patterned Papers
Bazzill black card stock
7 Gypsies Yummy Stickers
Prima Flowers
Autumn Leaves Stamps
Staz On Ink: Black
Ranger Distress Ink: Walnut Stain, Scattered Straw
Ranger Distress Stickles: Walnut Stain, Scattered Straw
Ranger Liquid Pearls: Red
Rusty Pickle Buttons
Before starting, remember: Measure twice, cut once.
Cut 8x8 chipboard covers to 6 ½ x 7 ½. Cover with patterned paper and cut out with AccuCut die on bottom edge.
On one side of my 6x6 inner pages I added 6x6 recipes I had from a message board recipe swap. On the other: cut recipe cards from patterned paper. Attach to black card stock and leave ½ inch edge on each side. Score at the recipe card edge and fold. Glue to form a pocket. Attach to page and embellish.
With BIA punch and bind 10 holes witgh 1 inch vblack Owire. Embellish front cover with paper cut outs, distress ink, liquid pearls and flowers. Decorate Owire with ribbon to complete.
