Happy 2010!

Well, hard to believe it's 2010. I still the whole Y2K scare like it was yesterday....the time goes quickly, doesn't it?

With the holidays behind us now, I've begun taking down our tree. I have a few ornaments to share. I make an ornament every year theat features each of the kids. A way to "see" them growing up for Christmas. Here's what I did:

As I was putting things away, I accidentally cracked an ornament. This really upset my DS as it was one he gave me. So I couldn't just trash it. Instead, I repaired it with mod podged vintage book pages. Then I changed the color with alcohol ink, added German glass glitter, shredded vintage paper, a Prima flower, a broken vintage pendant and an embossed metal bird. I like the results!

Maybe you have the urge to alter an ornament too before packing eveything away! If you do there's a cool challenge over at Art de Scrap blog . Come join in! And......Happy New Year!!!

Happy new year!!!!
beautiful keepsakes for the kids look back on.
Taking down our tree and ornaments tomorrow too...the house always feels so bare after it comes down.
Woohoo on managing to save and alter the ornament from your DS.
hugs
